HSMAI offers training and certifications in several disciplines, including Hotel Sales, Revenue Management, Business Acumen, and Digital Marketing.
These certifications are useful for:
Identifying one’s comprehensive body of knowledge & qualifying experience in hotel sales & business practices
Promoting industry standards, practices, and ethics
Stimulating the advancement of a better ROI industry professionals can provide their company by improving the bottom line
Increasing the value of hotel sales & marketing professionals to their company & the hospitality industry
Once approved to take the exam, the Lam Foundation will pay the testing fee directly to HSMAI on your behalf up to $600. Scholarships are for first-time testing only. TSYLF does not pay application fees, retesting, or recertification fees.
You must be 21 years of age & currently or previously employed in the hospitality industry.

1-page essay (on the TSYLF application form)
Copy of your HSMAI application approval notice & statement of exam fees from HSMAI
Headshot for online and print promotions
Media release acknowledgment
Signature of applicant & witness
Letter of recommendation
A letter of recommendation/support must be submitted from a current or former manager, instructor, or peer who can attest to your commitment to the hospitality industry. The letter must be on official letterhead include complete contact information of the referrer and be sent separately by clicking on the tab below:
